Our Story
Johan Nagels started MindWave out of a belief in a better way of doing business. We operate differently, as a cooperative of independent IT professionals in Belgium, where everyone can be a shareholder and a skilled practitioner, working as freelancers.

MindWave: Our Journey So Far
At MindWave, our story is one of innovation, passion, and continuous evolution. Founded in 2018 in Belgium, we set out with a vision to redefine the way people interact with IT services.
A Timeline of Key Milestones
2018
MindWave CVBA was founded in Belgium, a cooperative company, with the goal of being a better alternative to the traditional staffing agencies. We started without any external investments (also known as “bootstrapped”).
2019
Opened our office in Greece, offering nearshore to our Belgian customers, partnering with Randstad as Employer of Record (EOR).
2020
In Belgium, we moved to our office in De Hoorn in Leuven.
2022
In Greece, we founded MindWave Greece SA so that we no longer needed Randstad as the Employer of Record. We created the current legal structure: MindWave Group BV, MindWave Coop CV and MindWave Greece SA.
2023
We became completely debt-free. We never had any long-term loans, but since end of 2023 we no longer need short-time loans (e.g. for cashflow), further strengthening our financial stability.
2024
We reached a turnover of 4 MEUR and grew to a team of 45 FTEs.
2025
Our database of IT professionals grew to more than 3.500 interviewed candidates.

A cooperative company that assembles our freelancers in Belgium, controlled by MindWave Group BV.
