Our Journey So Far
MindWave was founded in 2018 by Johan Nagels on the conviction that professional IT services could be delivered differently. Established without external investment and debt-free since 2023, the company has evolved from a cooperative of independent IT professionals in Belgium into an organization built on both freelance expertise and a growing base of full-time employees.
A timeline of key milestones
2018
MindWave CVBA was founded in Belgium, a cooperative company, with the goal of being a better alternative to the traditional staffing agencies. We started without any external investments (“bootstrapped”).
2019
Opened our office in Greece, offering nearshore to our Belgian customers, partnering with Randstad as Employer of Record (EOR).
2020
In Belgium, we moved to our office in De Hoorn in Leuven.
2022
In Greece, we founded MindWave Greece SA so that we no longer needed Randstad as the Employer of Record. We created the current legal structure: MindWave Group BV, MindWave Coop CV and MindWave Greece SA.
2023
We became completely debt-free. We never had any long-term loans, but since end of 2023 we no longer need short-time loans (e.g. for cashflow), further strengthening our financial stability.
2024
We reached a turnover of 4 MEUR and grew to a team of 45 FTEs.
2025
Our database of IT professionals grew to more than 3,500 interviewed candidates.
2026
MindWave reached approved supplier status for public procurement, allowing us to bid on government and public sector opportunities.

A delivery center in Greece, fully owned by MindWave Group BV.

A cooperative company that assembles our freelancers in Belgium, controlled by MindWave Group BV.
